Zeke Bossley – Guest Speaker – 11/8/16

Kiwanis of Lafayette thanks Zeke Bossley, Owner and President of Cajun Brewing Company, for speaking to us today.

Zeke began home brewing beer after a tour of a microbrewery in Canada ignited a fascination of the brew making process. He joined a Lafayette home brewing club, the Dead Yeast Society, and began experimenting with several recipes.

Bossley and some of his Dead Yeast Society friends founded Cajun Brewing Company and opened its brewery in Lafayette in October 2015. It is the first brewery to operate in the city.

He described Cajun Brewing's operations and facilities and also its current beer offerings: the Cajun Wit, a Belgian-style wheat beer; and the Bayou Brunette. Currently, these beers are only available in draft, but the company is trying to obtain bottling equipment.

Bossley also announced that the brewery's tasting room will be open next week on November 16th. Finally, he described the steps in the brew making process.

Zeke brought two empty growlers (64 ounce glass jugs) which were won by Ted Beaulieu and David Friedrichs. These lucky winners can visit the tasting room and enjoy a free fill-up on Cajun Brewing Company!

Thanks again to Zeke Bossley for a very entertaining discussion on beer.
