Congratulations to all the participants in this year's Spelling Bee hosted by Lafayette Kiwanis & Kiwanis of Acadiana. Beatrice Long of John Paul the Great Academy in Lafayette will be representing our area at the Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
The Spelling Bee was supposed to be in May, but has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. If possible, the Bee will work with local sponsors, spellers, convention partners and ESPN to reschedule the 93rd Scripps National Spelling Bee for later this year.

This year's winners are:
3rd-5th Grade Bee:
Champion: Fisher Webre of Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School (Lafayette)
Runner-Up: Josie Breaux of Our Lady of Fatima School (Lafayette)
3rd Place: Aidan Touchet of Leblanc Elementary School (Abbeville)
6th-8th Grade Bee:
Champion: Beatrice Long of John Paul the Great Academy (Lafayette)
Runner-Up: William Moses of Our Lady of Fatima School (Lafayette)
3rd Place: Noah Darby of St. Cecilia School (Broussard)
