Lafayette student Amelia Hebert recently got back from Washington DC, where she was a contestant in the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee. She advanced all the way to the 3rd round! Judging from the pictures in the slideshow, not only did she do well, but had a great time and made many new friends. Her mom Allison wrote:
On behalf of our family, I would like to thank you and Kiwanis for such an incredible experience with the Spelling Bee! We just returned Wednesday night as we had extended our stay in DC. Thanks for all you did to answer our questions, book things and guide us through all of this. Our whole family had a terrific time and the bee itself is just remarkable. This experience will stay with us all forever and was just so grand on so many levels…we can’t thank you all enough for providing such an opportunity for young people and their family.
Allison (and Raymond), believe us that we get as much out of projects like this as you do!
