Chief Economist, La Legislative Fiscal Office
Greg Albrecht has been the Chief Economist of the Legislative Fiscal Office since 1991.
In this role he is responsible for forecasting the State’s major tax revenues, estimating the fiscal impact of tax legislation, as well as providing general economic, tax, and fiscal analysis to the legislature.
He received his undergraduate and masters degrees from the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge campus, and has been an adjunct instructor in the LSU Economics Department for over twenty-five years, teaching all of the principles courses offered by the Department; micro and macroeconomic principles, and most recently, money, banking, and monetary policy.
Greg is frequently interviewed by local and national newspapers as well as radio and TV stations concerning state revenue and fiscal matters.
He is married to Margaret Nabers, has two children, and has resided in Baton Rouge since 1977.
