Spelling Champion ready to compete in National Bee

Our Kiwanis Regional Spelling Bee Champion Amelia Hebert appeared on Good Morning Acadiana today for a few "practice rounds" against the hosts of this fun and informative show.  She did great, and is very much looking forward to her trip to Washington DC to compete with the best of the best.  Her trip and expenses are paid for by the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette and the Kiwanis Club of Acadiana - just one of the many things that our two clubs do in and for the Lafayette community.  Best of luck to Amelia - we are all rooting for you!

Again this year, the Bee will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.

  • Championship Finals: Thursday, May 29 from 8 to 10 p.m. EDT on ESPN and ESPN3
  • Semifinals: Thursday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT on ESPN2 and ESPN3
  • Preliminaries: Wednesday, May 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on ESPN3

And again this year, ESPN’s coverage will be streamed live online through ESPN3 – the signature live sports broadband network from ESPN.
