Kiwanis of Lafayette thanks Elizabeth "EB" Brooks, Executive Director of Lafayette Central Park, Inc., for speaking to us today.
EB returned to the club to update us concerning the ongoing development of Moncus Park, the former UL horse farm property and the efforts to transform it into a world-class park.
We learned about the updated plans for Phase I of the project which includes developments in the area of the park from Johnston Street to Coulee Mine. Planning is complete, and sufficient funding has been secured to allow construction to go forward hopefully later this year.
Included in the plans are a permanent space for the farmer's market, a mini-golf area, a dog park, and parking, among many other features.
Thanks again EB for speaking to us today!
